What are the key objectives and expectations from this role?

Strategically positioned as a key member of Marketing Activation Team with focus on Next Generation Products, this role will be responsible for developing, initiating and overseeing a long-term digital marketing strategy as well as spearheading short-term digital marketing solutions and will be involved in all offline activities, supporting the growth of our brands through step-changing activation and be part of a transformational journey.

Being at the forefront of the business, the role of the Brand Activation team is to ensure seamless development and delivery of activation plans. It is essential that BAT can recommend activation strategies in accordance with the market trends and drive the transformation of Brand Activation.

What is the direct impact of this role on the team or organization?

External – AGENCIES AND DIFFERENT SERVICE PROVIDERS

  • Develop adapt and lead the short-term and long-term digital strategy
  • Ensure sustainability of the channel from a performance and financial standpoint
  • Collaborate with other departments to manage the overall online presence of the company
  • Constantly thrive to develop new touch points and increase the reach of the digital channel, provide thought leadership and perspective for adoption where appropriate
  • Ensure thorough reporting of internal, external and competitors’ digital activities to identify trends and insights, and optimize spend and performance
  • Propose, approve, and implement the technological roadmap to support the business strategy.
  • Supplier Management
  • Identify and partner with the right agencies, technology suppliers and specialists to increase digital marketing results
  • Map portfolio of suppliers with the necessary capabilities to deliver the digital portfolio, according to BAT’s procurement & IT standards.
  • Budget Management
  • Accountable for end to end delivery of the digital portfolio, guaranteeing accomplishment of goals, schedule, cost, resources, quality, and alignment with global structures.
  • Effectively communicate status of the digital portfolio for top teams (i.e. Marketing and IT).
  • Regular review of agreed digital KPI’s including ROI, suggesting improvements, and seizing opportunities.
  • Lead projects teams and makes sure they stay productive by taking project issues off their hands (remove blockers and showstopper).
  • Create innovative and creative offline brand activities which connect and support our online activities
  • Develop innovative and impactful activations in 1-2-1 and entertainment channels in collaboration with the brand teams and agencies
  • You will be responsible for several offline brand activation activities, pop-up activation, in-store retail activities, entertainment activities in Algeria.
  • Be responsible for you own campaigns from day 1, which include strategy, planning and execution in line with overall BAT Algeria objectives
  • Set KPI’s and evaluate offline brand activation to identify scalable best practices
  • Plan, track, and report on brand activation marketing budget aligned with current planning and reporting structure
  • Manage a team of 3 direct reports and an outsourced 121 field force.
  • ESSENTIAL

    Experience Required

  • Between 5 – 6 years of proven ability in Digital and offline channel Management.
  • Previous Experience managing Agencies is a plus
  • Experience In team and project management.
  • Military Service Completion or Exemption for male candidates
  • Presentation skills
  • Great teammate with strong interpersonal skills
  • Budget Management capabilities.
  • High level MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PP, etc.) 
  • Education / Qualifications / Certifications Required

  • University degree in Marketing, Brand and Commercial Science is Highly recommended (bachelor’s degree or equivalent)
  • Fluency in English, French and Arabic (written and spoken)
  • BENEFICIAL

  • Having experience in Agencies is a plus.
  • Managing several Digital campaigns for FMCG.
