Description Job Summary: The Purchasing Agent II is responsible for supporting the efforts of the Regional Sourcing operation to ensure a continuous supply of needed goods, services or external labor are sourced according to field services’ requirements, EHS and Quality standards, and competitive costs Will be responsible for sourcing assigned commodity categories, understanding and communicating on supplier markets, and managing supplier engagements while promoting good interdepartmental relationships. Will participate in sourcing and/or purchasing process improvement initiatives, supplier corrective actions as needed, providing supplier engagement guidance and supplier alternatives to Buyers given fulfillment actions tied to regional sourcing plans, and in driving key performance indicators metrics given annual goals and objectives.Essential Duties & Responsibilities:Support the negotiation of terms and conditions for assigned region.Identify areas of potential sourcing solutions or supplier performance requirements (to established standards) opportunities and offer recommendationsLead cost reduction/savings initiatives for assigned commoditiesFulfill key performance metric goals as assigned annually or for special requestsMaintain supplier base by identifying and managing regional/country/technology specific supplier heat mapsSupport supplier evaluation or supplier management programsProvide assistance to other team members to assist with buying objectives and outage procurement sourcing plansInitiate and maintain good supplier relations given GE/FieldCore behaviors of Integrity, Humility and FocusWork collaboratively with other cross-functional departments/operations as/if neededClosely monitor all assigned projects and take appropriate action to ensure their successful completion • Report project progress to manager and team members as appropriateLead coordinated efforts to ensure root cause and corrective actions are identified and implementedTravel may be requiredMay be assigned other duties to help proactively drive our FieldCore vision and align with our organization’s core values.Required Qualifications & Experience:Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Finance or equivalent7+ years of purchasing, sourcing, or analytical experience in a project-oriented environment2+ years of specialized/industry experienceEnglish proficiency requiredDesired Characteristics:Knowledge of purchasing and sourcing practices and procedures, including supplier negotiations techniques, spend and category analyticsAttention to detail and outstanding organizational and analytical skillsSkillful in establishing and maintaining working relationships internally and externally with suppliersAbility to work in a fast-paced environment independently, to prioritize, and work well with time constraintsStrong troubleshooting, problem solving and creative thought processing skillsExcellent written, verbal, analytical, negotiating, and interpersonal skillsDemonstrated success with cost reductionsProven ability to lead cross functional efforts and achieve desired resultsAdvanced computer skills, specifically Microsoft Office and MRP / ERP systemsAbout FieldCore:FieldCore, a GE company, is an independent, industrial field services organization focused on World-Class Execution across the power generation sector.
